I offer introductory rates for new and self-published authors who want professional, thoughtful editing without losing their voice—or straining their budget—before hitting that bestseller list. Your project deserves first-class treatment, and I offer three different tiers of service so you can choose the level of support that suits you best.
I work with both fiction and non-fiction, and I’d love to hear your pitch for your project. I offer a free 30-minute consultation to discuss your manuscript, your goals, and whether we’re a good fit before signing a contract.
If we agree to work together, I also offer a paid sample edit to ensure our styles mesh well. I will edit a chapter or excerpt of your manuscript—up to 2,000 words—for $60. This includes a full copyedit and editorial comments reflecting how I would approach the manuscript as a whole.
My Method
I use Track Changes in Microsoft Word, which allows you to compare your original text with my edits and accept or reject any suggestion. For developmental editing, I also provide in-line comments on story structure, idea presentation, pacing, and characterization, helping you grow the strongest possible manuscript from the seeds you’ve planted.
Tier 1 – Copyediting / Proofreading

Includes: Grammar, spelling, punctuation, style consistency, formatting. Ideal for authors looking for a polished manuscript.
Rate: $0.02/word
Tier 2 – Line-Level / Stylistic Editing
Perfect for authors wanting more insight into how their manuscript reads.
Includes: Copyediting plus flow, readability, voice, and stylistic adjustments. Helpful for improving clarity and narrative style without full structural feedback.
Rate: $0.03/word
Tier 3 – Full Developmental Editing
Ideal for authors seeking in-depth guidance to strengthen story, structure, or argument.
Includes: Structural, pacing, plot and character development (fiction), or organization and clarity (non-fiction). Detailed feedback letter and overall suggestions for revision.
Rate: $0.05/word
Follow-Up Support
Editing is a collaborative process. After you’ve reviewed my edits and comments, I offer a complimentary follow-up consultation to answer questions and help you interpret feedback as you revise.
Any further editing of new or revised material is considered a separate service and is not included in the original edit.
