Hi, my name is Patty, and I can’t stop editing even when I want to.
I have a passion for the written word that I am eager to use to assist writers of every level. A bookworm from the youngest age, I was asking questions about writing that my parents and teachers couldn’t answer by the time my peers were just about ready to start chapter books. Can I ask you the questions that will bring out the best in your writing? I’m eager to find out!
I specialize in fantasy, romantasy, M/M romance, young adult fiction, paranormal mystery and romance, and erotica.
The best writer knows she or he can still improve. The search for that perfect word or phrase, the best way to present the treasure of your finest ideas, never ends. I’d love to be your companion on this journey and ease your path. My hallmarks are honesty, encouragement, and compassion for the plight of an author trying to birth a dream. If something doesn’t work, I’ll tell you why. When it works, I’ll rejoice with you, and together, we can polish the jewel of your work until it sparkles as bright as your vision for it.
My experience is varied and life-long. Even languishing in the corporate world, copy editing and writing coaching found its way into every job I ever had. I edited exam material for doctors at a medical school for fourteen years. As a freelance editor, I worked with professors in the social science field, helping them create prospectuses for textbooks. I edited my college newspaper and literary magazine, and have coached multiple writers of my acquaintance in whatever project they shared with me, for decades. The last line of my CV reads, “Given the chance, I will happily edit anything from a fortune cookie to an encyclopedia.”
