Ellory Samhain lives on a homestead in the misty wilds of the Pacific Northwest, pursuing a life closer to the earth as she heals from years spent languishing in corporate culture. A poet, lifelong bookworm, and lover of a good turn of phrase, she shares this life with her visionary platonic partner, her best friend since age 13. The two of them enjoyed staying up late watching music videos, sharing their favorite books, talking about everything in the world, and mooning over hot rockstars throughout the 80s—so much that they saw no need to leave that lifestyle behind in post-college adulthood.

Samhain prefers to keep romance on the page, where everything works out as it should. Her influences include poets such as Rilke, Neruda, and Oliver, as well as fantasy stalwarts like Tolkien and Leguin. She enjoys photography, volunteering at her tiny local library, and wandering through the forest with leaves in her hair, just like the elves she loved reading about as a child.
